TRANSPORT GROUP – HIGHLIGHTS FROM 30 JANUARY MEETING

The Session focused on ACE’s input into the Labour Party review on rail and urban transport.

On Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024, the Transport and Mobility Advocacy Group convened virtually via Microsoft Teams to address pressing issues within the transport sector. The meeting provided a platform for industry leaders to discuss ongoing market opportunities and challenges, as well as discuss share insights as part of a policy submission. 

Rail and Urban Transport Review 

Joined by representatives from the Labour Party, members took part in a comprehensive discussion on the Rail and Urban Transport Review. In December 2023, the review was established to examine how a future government could accelerate connectivity within and between the UK’s key urban areas. 

Discussions at the meeting focused on the review’s four core themes, including: 

  •  Growth opportunity through unlocking planning 
  • Clarity and certainty of policy and funding 
  • Devolution and sustainable partnerships 
  • Private sector and industry capacity 
  • UTG is coordinating the evidence gathering process.
