SUMMARY OF ROLE

As Membership Engagement Advisor, you will be the ‘go-to’ contact for our members and the first port of call for our potential members.

You will help ACE Group reach its new member targets by identifying new business prospects and using an effective recruitment strategy bring them on board as a new member. You will undertake account management strategies to retain existing members and highlight the value of their membership.

You will champion membership internally, working closely with the Policy, Communications, Marketing and Events teams to ensure everything we do as an association provides value to our members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

MEMBER ENGAGEMENT

• Own and implement the organisation’s member engagement strategy, focused on improving members’ engagement with ACE Group and optimising their experience throughout the membership journey – from attraction, to induction, to renewal
• Periodically review our member engagement strategy to align with strategic priorities
• Proactively build relationships with individual member companies to understand their organisational priorities and motivations for being part of ACE Group. Listen to and act on any member issues and concerns - communicating those regularly to relevant teams.
• Develop and oversee the implementation of member inductions; working with other teams to facilitate member-facing and member-led initiatives;
• Create simple ways to track and measure the effectiveness of member engagement using the CRM system, and be a champion of the system across all internal teams.
• Lead on the annual membership survey, and support teams to implement recommendations and actions arising from member feedback through the survey.

MEMBERSHIP GROWTH AND MANAGEMENT

• Deliver the membership growth strategy by developing and qualifying new member leads that meet recruitment income and volume targets
• Lead the annual member renewals process and implement strategies to ensure prompt payment and high retention rates.
• Coordinate with the Membership Administrator on various membership administration responsibilities, such as monitoring the membership inbox, calls and membership

EVENTS AND COMMUNICATIONS

• Improve members’ awareness of and access to membership benefits, such as advocacy, regional, and operation groups; the projects within the annual plan; and our flagship events
• Coordinate and streamline staff engagement with the membership, including by working with the communications team on member newsletters and other communications products, and supporting them to raise ACE Group’s profile within member organisations.
• Lead the planning and execution of some of our operational and regional groups and meetings, along with the Policy and Communications and Marketing teams
• Support the organisation’s event programme, and policy and project outputs, by identifying and developing sponsorship leads.


MISCELLANEOUS

SUMMARY OF ROLE

As our Environmental Policy Advisor, you will lead the support the Policy Team provides to the EIC Taskforces, and work to advocate to government on behalf of our members. In this role, you will lead work to ensure these groups define positions for industry, influence policy direction, and produce high-standard outputs.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

General:

To be responsible for the policy intelligence, research, and advocacy work for identified area/s of EICs policy work, in coordination with the specific EIC Taskforces (Nature, Air Quality, Water, Waste and Resources).

Support the Head of Policy and other team members in the management of EIC's Taskforces and in developing and implementing policy and advocacy proposals relevant to the specific work areas agreed together with EIC members.

To monitor relevant legislation, policies, measures, projects, and studies, relevant to the designated policy area/s and produce policy briefings and analytical reports in consultation with the relevant EIC Taskforces.

 

Advocacy:

To develop and implement advocacy strategies towards the most relevant UK institutions and other actors for political change on key issues

To draft position papers/articles/op-eds/letters/reports

To contribute to EIC campaigns, ensuring they are built around solid policy analysis.

Working with the Head of Policy to build relationships with key institutions and strategic stakeholders, attending external meetings, collecting intelligence, and building alliances relevant to the different policy areas.

To support the Head of Policy and others when they are representing EIC in key events.

 

Other tasks:

Liaise with EIC members and facilitate their active engagement in the policy and advocacy work.

Support the voice and participation of EIC members in all aspects of our work.

Contribute to EIC external communication, by writing articles for the website, newsletters etc.

ACE Emerging Professionals is a group for the next generation of business leaders within the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE), aimed at those working within the built and natural environment. As the business association representing companies large and small in the engineering consultancy sector, we at ACE are a leading voice, positively influencing government, and other stakeholders across the UK.

Role description:
The role involves supporting the National Chair in leading the ACE Emerging Professionals with the aim of providing a platform for professionals to develop their awareness of industry trends via exploring the strategic themes such as Leading the way on sustainability, Assessing the impact of digital transformation, Enhancing the equality, diversity & inclusion (ED&I), and Future of the workplace.

By taking accountability for two of the themes from within the ACE Emerging Professionals’ strategy, Digital and Future of the Workplace, the Vice-Chair has an important role to play in ensuring that the work group functions effectively. You will spearhead the development of thought leadership and a programme of events that are in line with members needs and support the overall ACE strategy. More widely, you will become a champion for Emerging Professionals within ACE’s membership and to the sector. Acting as the Vice-Chair can also enable an individual to gain valuable skills and grow their personal network providing opportunities to raise an individual’s profile within the industry through speaking opportunities, blogs and articles. The individual will play a key role in proactively influencing ACE’s overall strategy by gaining solid insight and feedback on all that matters for an emerging career.

As our Public Affairs Strategist you will play a pivotal role within the ACE Group, serving as our lead on strategic advocacy campaigns and initiatives to shape public policy outcomes and drive positive change. Reporting to the Director of Policy, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategies, building relationships with government officials, industry associations, and other key stakeholders to advance our policy agenda.

At the heart of your responsibilities will be the development and execution of impactful advocacy campaigns that mobilise support, raise awareness, and drive action on key policy issues and industry issues. You will also undertake and support rigorous policy analysis and research to inform advocacy efforts, providing insights and recommendations on legislative proposals, regulatory developments, and political trends affecting the ACE Group's interests.

Additionally, you will work with the Director of Policy and serve as our ambassador, representing the ACE Group at certain external meetings, events, and forums to amplify our messaging and advocacy efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategies to identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with government officials, parliamentarians, industry associations, and other key stakeholders. These will include issues covered by ACE and EIC, including (but not limited to) Places, Procurement, Transport, Air Quality, Nature and Biodiversity.
  • Lead the development and execution of strategic advocacy campaigns and initiatives to raise awareness of key policy issues, mobilise support, and drive action among target audiences. You will work across project teams covering themes such as innovation, risk, excellence, and social value.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and partners to develop campaign goals, messaging, tactics, and metrics for success, ensuring alignment with the ACE Group's policy priorities and objectives.
  • Coordinate outreach efforts, including lobbying activities, to effectively communicate the ACE Group's policy positions and priorities to stakeholders and decision-makers. You will have remit for our work in the English regions, including the work of our North West and Midlands Committee.

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The Membership Engagement Coordinator will support the team to ensure an excellent standard of customer service to members, potential members, and other customers. The Membership Engagement Coordinator will support the team with the day-to-day management of ACE and EIC members, managing telephone and email enquiries, coordinating member meetings when needed, and maintaining accurate member records.

The role will also be key in supporting the wider team to deliver a programme of member events and group meetings, booking venues, and ensuring that these events are well organised and delivered. The Membership Engagement Coordinator will also be key in carrying out other tasks and projects as required to ensure that members are well supported.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

MEMBERSHIP GROWTH

  • Support the team to deliver the recruitment, retention and satisfaction targets set
  • Supporting with new member recruitment for ACE and EIC, issuing new member packs, maintaining member pipeline, setting up calls with potential members as required.
  • Highlight any required amendments to the membership marketing collateral and website, including updates to the membership forms.
  • Support new member onboarding for ACE and EIC – adding member application forms onto the CRM, scheduling induction meetings, sending out new member packs in line with team procedures

MEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT

  • Support members to navigate and maximise their engagement by offering regular engagement meetings, promoting participation of their staff in our groups and with access to ACE/EIC business support services.
  • Manage the customer service side of member purchases, ensuring they are customer friendly and keep abreast of feedback and recommend process improvements to benefit members
  • Work with events manager as and when required to ensure effective delivery of ACE/EIC events programme.
  • Support with the management of ACE and EIC groups, including coordinating diaries with group chairs, managing group distribution lists on the CRM, taking minutes and distributing actions.

As our Nations Policy Lead you will play a pivotal role within the ACE Group, responsible for all interactions with politicians, political parties, civil servants, and other relevant stakeholders in each of our devolved nations.

You will lead our policy and public affairs and government relations programme in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, taking ownership of a range of policy issues and communicating them to a broad audience, ensuring that senior stakeholders are apprised of political and legislative trends that impact our priorities.

You will work with the Director of Policy to define and oversee the development and delivery of a proactive government relations and legislative strategy on key policy issues affecting our members. Maintaining dialogue with members and other stakeholders, you will work closely with these groups to develop high-level relationships that will enhance the ACE Group’s reputation amongst key decision makers.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in policy development, with expertise in areas such as environmental sustainability, infrastructure development, and stakeholder engagement in any of the devolved nations.
