TRANSPORT AND MOBILITY
The group starts with a simple premise – increasing connectivity will unlock opportunity and growth across the UK.
Whether Crossrail, HS2, Northern Powerhouse Rail, Heathrow’s expansion, or freeports, these high-profile projects will not only unleash economic growth and recovery, but change how and where people chose to live and work.
Transport is fundamental to local and national ambitions on levelling-up and key to unleashing the Midlands Engine, Oxford-Cambridge Arc and Northern Powerhouse.
Meanwhile, new investments in public transport and new technology such as hydrogen trains and electric vehicles will help reduce transport’s carbon footprint as we move towards a Net Zero future.
Through the policy forum and engagement with members, the group champions mobility and transport, and shapes ACE’s interactions with policymakers, evidence-based thought-leadership and ensures our industry is at the forefront of political discussions on the future of transport.
The group is chaired by Andy Bell of Ramboll.
