Funding Roads for the Future explores the potential for dynamic road user charging to revolutionise how our road network is funded.
Now is an opportune moment to explore the issues facing our road network. Our existing funding model isn’t working in the face of technological and human-led changes – for example, electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, platooning, ride sharing, autonomous driving, smart roads and increased urbanisation. Meanwhile, the Government is looking to rebalance the economy in the longer-term and our national road network obviously has a huge role to play.
We hope to add to the overall debate with a report which produces practical and tangible recommendations for our industry, the government and wider stakeholders.
