Commenting from the FIDIC Jakarta meeting, Dr Nelson Ogunshakin OBE, chief executive of the Association for Consultancy & Engineering said:
"Gavin English, Managing Director of IMC Worldwide and immediate past chair of ACE, is the perfect candidate to represent the interest of the UK consulting market on the FIDIC Executive Board.
"Having served as ACE's International Business group chair, he subsequently became ACE chair in 2016. He has a fantastic track record of over 30 years of international consultancy market experience and he will be a strong advocate for the interests of consultancy and engineering firms on the global stakeholder engagement platform. ACE will provide the maximum support for Gavin to ensure that the UK's business interests are well positioned at the highest decision tables post-Brexit"
At the FIDIC Jakarta meeting Alain Bentejac, chief executive officer of Artelia Group of France, was elected as FIDIC President for 2017-2019, succeeding outgoing President Jae Wan Lee of Korea.
On this, Dr Nelson Ogunshakin OBE said: "On behalf of myself and the ACE Board we are incredibly grateful to Jae Wan Lee for his contributions and leadership over his tenure. A hearty congratulations to Alain Bentejac on his election to the global umbrella body FIDIC. We look forward to working with Alain during his tenure to ensure FIDIC is well positioned to be a strong voice representing its members around the globe."
