Global engineering, design and sustainability consultancy Ramboll has appointed Ann Gordon as market director for transport in the UK and Ireland.
She assumes the role having previously been a project director in the transport project management team and master planning market lead.
Gordon has been with Ramboll for 20 years, starting with the firm as a graduate, and has worked on projects across the world in Europe, America and the Middle East during her extensive tenure.
She said: “I’m very excited to be joining Ramboll’s leadership team for transport at such a crucial time and to be supporting the UK and Ireland’s sustainable infrastructure ambitions.
“I’m also looking forward to driving collaboration across Ramboll to bring holistic, sustainable and innovative solutions to our clients.

Other new appointments have also been announced across the sector.
Stantec has announced two key appointments.
Tony Cook has been appointed key account director for its UK and Ireland Infrastructure business. With more than three decades of engineering and business development experience within the construction industry, he is now supporting Stantec in building and bolstering its relationships with contractors, developers, local authorities and National Highways across the London and South East region - and beyond.
He has worked previously for Skanska Construction and more recently FM Conway in business development director roles while also being experienced civil engineer. In his new role at Stantec, he will be strengthening Stantec’s network and approach around design and build projects, programmes, and frameworks throughout the infrastructure sector.
Stantec has also appointed Roger Evans as its director for local authorities. Evans fills a strategic position within Stantec’s Infrastructure side of the business, joining the company on the back of an extensive career influencing and supporting local governments.
Nala Renewables has announced the appointment of a new CEO.
The global power and renewable energy investment platform and an independent power producer, has named Mike O’Neill as chief executive officer, effective 20 January 2025.
He brings 30 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, helping to advance large-scale renewable energy projects globally.
Before joining Nala Renewables he was CEO at Hive Renewables, leading the development of, and investment, in large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS) projects internationally. Prior to this, he was CEO of Element Power where he spent 10 years building the company into a global renewable energy business.
Costain has appointed Eva Soto Pérez as engineering services general manager.
She will be responsible for engineering design delivery and growth across the business.
With more than 25 years’ experience in engineering and infrastructure, she joins from Morgan Sindall Infrastructure where she was engineering director.
Prior to this, she worked in senior roles at AECOM, Laing O’Rouke, WSP and FCC Construction.
She said: “In today’s fast-changing world, infrastructure asset owners and operators are increasingly looking for engineering solutions that maximise efficiency and sustainability.
“This is best achieved by applying modern methods of construction, utilising data, and embedding production-thinking throughout the delivery processes.
