Global energy solutions supplier Aggreko has secured a multi-year contract as the primary power provider for the new Sizewell C nuclear power station in Suffolk.

As a tier 1 supplier for the project, Aggreko will provide a low-emission, low-noise multi-megawatt power package for the construction of Sizewell C.

This includes Stage V generators incorporating battery energy storage system (BESS) technologies, with Aggreko Remote Monitoring (ARM) transmitting real-time data to ensure optimum equipment performance.

 Asset management and data-driven reporting will also be available via Aggreko Connect, throughout the project’s lifetime.  These performance metrics translate into operational and emissions reporting, providing the team at Sizewell C with actionable insights that drive greater efficiency.

The news comes as Sizewell C confirmed it has reached financial close with a £5bn financing deal from 13 banks, paving the way for full-scale construction.
