Working with ACE’s Roads sector interest group, we have responded to the Department for Transport’s (DfT) response to Highways England’s initial report into the strategic road network (SRN).

Building on some of the topics raised by our Funding Roads for the Future report, our response covers the key questions raised by the DfT’s response, notably do the proposals on the SRN cover what its users and businesses want, and how do the proposals mitigate impacts on local communities.

ACE also shared its own views on the initial report, including on the development of expressways, as well as the operational and infrastructure priorities highlighted by Highways England.
