ADVOCACY PRIORITIES OUTLINED IN 2023 MANIFESTO

ACE shares engagement platform around place, transport, climate change and procurement

ACE has shared its 2023 Manifesto, outlining the policy aspirations and priorities which will underpin its political engagement and advocacy over the next 12 months.

Complementing ACE’s three-year Blueprint, the document outlines a series of policymaking asks which will create the conditions for future member and industry success.

The Manifesto shares a number of recommendations – which are organised by ACE advocacy group, and which intersect with the five Blueprint themes – to unleash the potential in our national transport, energy, flood resilience, water, waste and digital networks.

In the Manifesto’s foreword, ACE CEO Stephen Marcos Jones reinforced the importance of our members’ work to meeting political aspirations: “Whether […] meeting Net Zero commitments and targets, delivering on promises for regional development, or driving economic growth while boosting productivity, our members’ work enables political ambitions to be turned into tangible projects and programmes.”

“In return, our members […] need long-term plans and political stability to ensure they can access the skills, financial resource and capacity to deliver what is expected of them.”

The Manifesto has been created to provide a platform for ACE’s engagement on behalf of its members and the industry. Written with the expert input of its advocacy groups, it also provides a framework for group activity at ACE in 2023 and beyond.

Guto Davies, head of policy at ACE said: “We have outlined a series of sensible and achievable asks of government which will help to deliver political ambitions around levelling up and Net Zero, whilst improving delivery and boosting productivity.”

“We’re looking forward to taking this platform to Westminster, the devolved nations and combined authorities and – with an general election potentially soon on the horizon – all political parties.”

The Manifesto will play a major part in the programme of each advocacy group in 2023, with roundtable sessions exploring many of the key recommendations.
