Building on the success of ACE’s Navigating COVID-19 and their own Coming out of COVID series in 2020, Infrastructure Intelligence are back with a Live webinar series which will explore issues affecting our sector.

Infrastructure Intelligence will host their first In the Spotlight interview of 2021 which features Derrick Sanyahumbi, the recently appointed chief executive of infrastructure exports organisation British Expertise International (BEI). Sanyahumbi took over at BEI, the UK’s leading membership organisation for UK-based companies exporting infrastructure services, in January and is looking forward to building on his organisation’s strong connections with UK government and business and strengthening its key networks in critical areas of international engagement, notably trade and international development as well as foreign policy.

In the months ahead, BEI will also be looking to further enhance its partnerships with the UK and foreign governments in support of improved markets access and opportunities for UK exporters of infrastructure, capacity building and international development.

Sanyahumbi has extensive experience of working in southern Africa and Asia, having worked for the UN, the World Bank’s International Finance Cooperation and the Netherlands Development Agency - SNV, on private sector development related programmes. Prior to this he built a successful career in marketing over 15 years in the Southern African tobacco industry. His expertise combines real world experience of the practicalities of operating in developing countries, with a sound understanding of the UK and international private sector and the policies and operations of government and multilateral organisations.

Any UK companies working in the construction and infrastructure sector should be interested in the activities of BEI and with a newly appointed CEO at the helm, it seems like an ideal time to get the low down on all things infrastructure export-related from a man in the know.
