OFFSITE MANUFACTURE, MMC AND ITS ROLE IN DELIVERING UK INFRASTRUCTURE

A new ACE report, to be launched next month looking at offsite manufacturing and its role in delivering the Government’s Project Speed agenda, will be profiled at a forthcoming Infrastructure Intelligence webinar on Friday 11 February 2022.

As the Government plots the UK’s economic recovery from the pandemic, it has prioritised an “infrastructure revolution”, with plans for major investment across swathes of our built environment, encompassing housing, schools, hospitals, transport networks.

Upgrading the nation’s infrastructure is vital, but given the situation the UK is in, with pressure on the public finances combined with political ambitions around Net Zero and ‘levelling up’, this investment is only viable if it can be delivered in a better and quicker way.

Amongst other things, the new ACE report will argue that there needs to be a transformation in the way that the built environment is designed and delivered in order to address the delivery challenges that the construction sector faces - and a key part of that challenge is making offsite manufacturing a natural part of many built environment projects.

This webinar, organised with the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE), will launch a new ACE breifing on offsite manufacturing and its role in delivering the government’s Project Speed agenda. Speakers will discuss how modern methods of construction (MMC) and offsite manufacture can make a key difference in delivering UK infrastructure in a more timely and economic way, what needs to be done to increase its take up and examine the implications for clients, consultants and contractors and how the industry works going forward.

Find out more by booking your place at this webinar, which will take place on Friday 11 February at 11.00am.
