COMING OUT OF COVID
A BOOST FOR NET ZERO?

A BOOST FOR NET ZERO

Infrastructure Intelligence has launched a new webinar series to help the construction sector grapple with the key issues as the UK enters the latest stage in the fight against the coronavirus.

The webinars, which will run every Friday at 11am throughout the summer, will focus on the role of infrastructure investment in the economic recovery, building industry resilience, changing business models and communications in the new digital landscape and continue the good work laid by ACE's Navigating COVID-19 series which helped members deal with the immediate issues highlighted in the COVID crisis.

There are increasing calls for the economic stimulus packages being devised by Governments around the world post-COVID to be climate aware, so that the increase in emissions that was seen following the 2008 global financial crisis is not repeated. During the current unprecedented period, leaders have an opportunity to revise their climate plans to accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon economy. This crisis has shown that concerted international effort is possible in the face of a global threat to human life and there are now calls for a renewed and remodelled commitment to achieving a zero-carbon economy. This webinar will look at the prospects for concerted action on climate change and discuss whether the Covid-19 crisis has reframed the debate around this crucial issue.
