ACE Group today welcomed the government’s decision to green light more than 50 road and rail upgrades, which will support more than 39,000 new homes and 42,000 jobs.
Marie-Claude Hemming, Director of Policy at ACE Group, said: “ACE Group welcomes the unblocking of this wave of projects which will deliver real tangible benefits for people and businesses across the UK – as well as unlocking future growth and development.
“Our members are the forefront of design engineering and together are ready to work with public sector clients, both large and small, to ensure the optimum delivery of these critical and long-awaited infrastructure projects.
“To ensure best outcomes, drive innovation and cost efficiencies, ACE Group calls on Government to ensure delivery plans for all 50 projects are clear, fully funded, future proofed and are fit for a 21st century society.”
ACE Group comprises the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) and the Environmental Industries Commission (EIC).
As part of government’s Plan for Change, the announcements are backed by more than £92bn from the Spending Review settlement, which means it is the biggest boost to England’s transport infrastructure in a generation.
