ACE GROUP CALLS FOR PRACTICAL ACTION ON CLIMATE RESILIENCE AND ECONOMIC GROWTH AT COP30

As the world looks to the second day of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP30), ACE Group is calling on governments and industry to turn ambition into practical delivery - linking climate and nature goals directly to economic growth, resilience and competitiveness.

Representing more than 470,000 professionals and contributing over £39bn to the UK economy, the consultancy and engineering sector plays a central role in delivering sustainable infrastructure, driving productivity and supporting jobs across every region of the UK. ACE Group members bring world-leading expertise in environmental technology, infrastructure planning and design - helping the UK compete globally while building a climate-resilient, nature-positive economy.

Achieving these goals requires not just ambition, but clear, coordinated action between government, industry and investors. ACE Group has identified five strategic priorities where collaboration can unlock long-term impact and economic value.

  1. Deliver practical action at pace and scale: Accelerate the implementation of climate and nature commitments through coordinated infrastructure investment, innovation, and delivery partnerships that create regional jobs and resilience.
  2. Embed climate resilience and nature-positive outcomes: Ensure that all new major projects integrate carbon reduction, biodiversity recovery, and circular economy principles - improving performance, efficiency and long-term asset value.
  3. Align investment, regulation and innovation: Promote stable, consistent policy and procurement frameworks that give investors confidence and enable innovation at every stage of project delivery.
  4. Build skills and supply-chain capacity: Support investment in workforce development, digital capability, and supply chains to ensure the UK can deliver the next generation of resilient, sustainable infrastructure.
  5. Strengthen global and regional collaboration: Expand partnerships and trade opportunities that allow UK expertise to contribute globally while building local capability and economic benefit at home.

These priorities are designed to guide policymakers, investors, and industry leaders towards delivering tangible results - linking climate leadership with growth, innovation and national resilience.

ACE Group CEO, Kate Jennings, said: “The world is now focused on delivery - on turning commitments into measurable progress. At COP30, we’re calling for practical collaboration between government, investors and industry to align investment, regulation, and innovation.

“The consultancy and engineering sector is a critical partner in helping to deliver the infrastructure, skills, and solutions that make climate resilience, nature recovery and sustainable growth achievable. This is about creating jobs, boosting productivity and securing resilience for generations to come.”
