ATKINSRÉALIS APPOINTED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES PARTNER BY HEREFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

AtkinsRéalis has been appointed as the sole provider of professional engineering services for Herefordshire Council, delivering multidisciplinary expertise across highways and infrastructure projects.

Under the agreement, AtkinsRéalis will provide a range of services including highway and active travel design, bridge inspections, flood modelling and environmental and heritage assessments. The scope also encompasses project management, transport planning, and consultancy support for major infrastructure schemes.

The five year contract will draw widely on capabilities from across the AtkinsRéalis business as part of its integrated end-to-end service, cementing its position as a trusted partner working alongside Herefordshire Council.

Mike Batheram, market director for local transport at AtkinsRéalis, said: “Herefordshire Council emphasised the importance of taking a collaborative approach for this newly created role, as they seek to develop a long-term relationship for the delivery of professional services, working alongside the term maintenance provider and other contractors and suppliers, to deliver highways schemes and provide infrastructure services.

“Our commitment to developing the partnership was key to our appointment in this role, which represents a fantastic opportunity to bring our multidisciplinary expertise to Herefordshire to support the council’s ambitions for sustainable growth and improved transport infrastructure. We look forward to building a long-term relationship with the council, other partners and stakeholders that delivers real benefits for local communities.”

The contract will be delivered by teams based in the region and builds on similar successful highways and infrastructure alliances and partnerships with local authorities including Wiltshire, Buckinghamshire and Surrey councils.
