Amey has secured a major eight-year contract with Irish Rail - Iarnród Éireann – marking the firm’s major contract with the rail operator.

It has been appointed to Irish Rail’s Signalling, Electrification and Telecoms (SET) Implementation Partner single party framework. The eight-year framework will see Amey support Irish Rail across the Republic of Ireland, providing rail engineering resources, delivering multidisciplinary engineering services and undertaking signalling, electrification and telecoms works on a project-by-project basis.

Tony Ennis, chief engineer signalling, electrification and telecoms at Irish Rail, said: “This framework gives Irish Rail access to specialist signalling, electrification and telecoms expertise that will support the continued development of our rail network over the years ahead. The appointment establishes Amey as a strategic delivery partner to Irish Rail and builds on the company’s growing presence in Ireland following its involvement in the Luas operations and maintenance contract delivered through its joint venture with Keolis.
