AECOM has officially opened its new office in Bristol providing a new home for hundreds of staff.
Mayor of the West of England, Helen Godwin, officially opened the new site at 3 Rivergate, Redcliffe, which provides a hub for more than 350 employees across a range of planning, design, construction and environmental disciplines, including more than 50 graduates and apprentices.
The company’s teams in Bristol support a wide range of clients in the South-west, including the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority, local councils, the Environment Agency, Wessex Water, Network Rail, University of Bristol, Babcock, and a number of renewable energy developers. Alongside its work in the region, AECOM’s Bristol teams also contribute to national and global projects.
“We are excited to share this move, highlighting our ongoing commitment to the South West of England and to Bristol, where AECOM has operated in one form or another for over 30 years,” said Richard Whitehead, chief executive of AECOM’s Europe and India region.
“The city has been AECOM’s hub for many crucial projects and relationships over the years, and I am delighted to be here today with mayor Godwin to officially open this new space. I look forward to many more visits to our incredible local team, who continue to support our clients in delivering projects that drive economic growth and lasting impact across the region.”
Helen Godwin added: “It’s been brilliant to see AECOM’s new office and to hear more about their work across the west – including supporting our work with North Somerset Council and other partners to reopen of the railway line between Bristol and Portishead. That AECOM employs more than 50 apprentices and graduates is cause for real celebration, creating opportunities for young people from our region to help shape our region.”
AECOM has supported a number of major projects in the West of England and the wider South West in recent years, including the Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus for Bristol University, the MetroWest (Portishead Line) Full Business Case, the WECA Future Transport Zone, and Keynsham Recycling Hub.
