The procurement process is underway to find built environment specialists capable of creating new healthcare buildings and facilities in Wales worth at least £7m.
NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership is commencing the tender procedure for almost £600m worth of contracts.
The successful bidders will be involved in establishing the next generation NHS Building for Wales 2 Frameworks, delivering those capital funded major construction schemes for NHS Wales costing in excess of £7m, excluding VAT.
The current NHS Building for Wales frameworks, which launched in April 2018 for works in excess of £4m excluding VAT has procured in excess of thirty projects.
It is due to expire in April 2024.
NHS Wales Shared Service Partnership has now launched the fourth generation framework to be procured specifically for use by Health Boards and Trusts within Wales.
Frameworks will be split into two lots, for works between £7m and £20m with a pipeline of £355m, and works in excess of £20m with a pipeline of £242m.
The framework will run for a period of four years, with increased emphasis on delivery of integrated primary, community & social care facilities.
Separate frameworks will be established to appoint four Supply Chain Partners (with integrated supply chains of designers and services installers), four Project Managers, four Cost Advisors and three NEC Supervisors.
Bidders are required to submit their expressions of interest in the frameworks by 21 June 2023, with shortlisted firms invited to submit bids from 17 October 2023.
