ACE is forming a new group to bring together members with an active involvement in the aviation and maritime built environment.
While there are a number of obvious differences between the two sectors, there are connecting issues that affect both ports and airports including connectivity, air quality and returns on major project investment. ACE wants to establish a new group to jointly consider and respond to these issues, helping to reduce the "silo effect" of working in these streams whilst enabling thought-leadership and helping to advocate for change in the government's approach to these issues.
Recognising that most members operate separate aviation and maritime functions, two representatives from each member company will be welcome to attend.
In addition to ACE membership, representatives from UK Major Ports (UKMP), the Airport Operators Association (AOA) and Associated British Ports (ABP) have agreed to join the group’s membership. The group will also have access to key companies in aviation and maritime industries.
It is expected that the group will meet four times a year, with the first meeting to be held in the next few weeks. The first meeting will cover introductions, nominations for Chair, finalising the Terms of Reference, and discussing the forward work programme.
If you or a colleague are interested in joining our new Airports and Ports group, please email our policy team by close of play on Monday 22 October 2018.
