Last week's announcement that HS2 will indeed go ahead was widely trailed and, of course, welcomed by ACE.
Following last week's announcement, our response was covered nationally in City AM and MSN News.
Regionally it was picked up by Business Live, the business focused website from the major regional papers including Manchester Evening News and Birmingham Post. In addition it was profiled in a piece in the Grimsby Telegraph which explored the implications of the decision for the steel industry.
In terms of sector news, Railway Gazette picked up on our comments, as did New Civil Engineer, Construction Plant News, The Construction Index, CIHT, and, of course, Infrastructure Intelligence.
Prior to this, with the project being reviewed by the Government, we joined a number of stakeholder groups, consultants and contractors to write to the Prime Minister outlining the need for the transformative project. Our letter was profiled in the Times, with follow up pieces in Construction News, Building, and Infrastructure Intelligence.
We followed this up with an opinion piece by ACE vice chair Dave Beddell for City AM, London’s business paper, which focused on arguments around capacity, the economy and environment in favour of the project.
