IN THE MEDIA: CLC TALENT RETENTION SCHEME

Positive reaction to skills collaboration between industry and government

The Chancellor’s initial announcement for a Construction Talent Retention scheme was widely welcomed by industry and ACE members.

As well as being championed by a range of business/trade associations, it was also widely covered by industry media, which included Infrastructure Intelligence, Inside Housing, PBC Today, Builders Merchant News, Building and also featured briefly in the Sunday Times.

The official launch last Friday of the portal shared that more than 450 businesses employing more than 100,000 have already signed up to the portal. At the virtual ribbon cutting ceremony featuring Construction Minister Nadeem Zaharwi MP, it was also shared that there were hundreds of roles in the pipeline coming on board over the coming weeks

This official launch was covered by Building, Infrastructure Intelligence, PBC Today and New Civil Engineer. Mark Reynolds, chief executive of Mace, and CLC skills lead, penned a comment piece in Building which has been widely welcomed on social media.
