BUILDING SKILLS TO MEET SECTOR CHALLENGES

ACE members are invited to attend this virtual event hosted by Heriot-Watt University to find out how they can help you develop your workforce to meet the key challenges facing construction & infrastructure.

In the live webinar you’ll hear from Rod MacDonald OBE (RAE Visiting Professor, Holistic Civil Engineering, Heriot-Watt) who will give an overview of the key challenges facing the sector, such as climate change and sustainability.

You’ll also hear from Dr Laurent Galbrun and Dr Graeme Bowles, programme directors for Heriot-Watt’s Civil Engineering (CE) and Construction and the Built Environment (CBE) Graduate Apprenticeships programmes. Laurent and Graeme will give an overview of their programmes and explain how they can build key skills to help companies face these challenges head on.

The webinar also features Sarah Forbes from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB). Sarah will give an overview of the CITB, what it does and the types of funding and grants that are available.

Following the presentations, there will be the opportunity to ask questions in the interactive Q&A.
