ACE Emerging Professionals North: Ecosystem Engineers, An Evening with The Beaver Trust

The ACE Emerging Professionals North Group, in collaboration with Tetra Tech, invites early-career professionals from across the built environment to explore how innovation, sustainability and rewilding intersect in today’s engineering landscape.

Dr Robert Needham, Restoration Manager at the Beaver Trust, will guide us through the policy changes enabling the legal reintroduction of beavers in the UK. Discover how beavers, often called nature’s “ecosystem engineers,” are reshaping river systems, boosting biodiversity, and helping restore balance to the UK’s landscapes.

You’ll also enjoy a private screening of the 25-minute docu-film, Balancing the Scales, a powerful exploration of the freshwater fish crisis and the impact beaver reintroduction can have on migratory fish and inland river systems.

The evening will conclude with a live Q&A and relaxed networking session complete with canapes, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and the chance to connect with fellow emerging professionals who share a passion for sustainability, innovation and the future of our planet.
