Rynd brings expertise in infrastructure planning, shaped by his background in law and town planning. A former director at both the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and the Planning Inspectorate, he has led major UK and Australian projects, including the Lower Thames Crossing.
He holds the record for the most Development Consent Order (DCO) examinations chaired and is known for aligning strategy with delivery, leveraging data and digital tools to drive efficiency. Rynd also pioneered virtual Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIP) examinations. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) and a member of the RTPI.
