Julie Foley
Role: Director of Flood Risk Strategy and Adaptation Company: Environment Agency
Julie leads delivery of the Environment Agency’s Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Strategy, working with government, risk management authorities, infrastructure providers and partners. She oversees national teams on flood and coastal resilience and climate adaptation, and leads delivery of the £200 million Flood & Coastal Resilience Innovation Programme and the £25 million Natural Flood Management programme.
With 18 years at the Environment Agency, Julie previously served as Area Director for Kent and South London, and Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire, and spearheaded the ten-year review of the Thames Estuary 2100 tidal flood risk plan. She is also the Agency’s executive champion for race equality, diversity and inclusion, and was awarded an OBE in the 2022 New Year Honours for services to flood risk management.
