Professional services firm WYG has become the first ISO 44001 certified contractor to the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) for their work on the army basing programme (ABP). ISO 44001 recognises collaborative business relationship management, with WYG the first project contractor to achieve this standard for a DIO major project enterprise.
Clive Anderson, managing director at WYG commented: “Collaboration is at the heart of WYG’s approach to building client relationships. We are delighted to have achieved our first ISO 44001 certification through the army basing programme with the DIO.
“Our collaborative working methodology has played an important role in the success of the Salisbury Plain Training Area Service Families Accommodation, one of the largest army basing projects undertaken so far in the UK. We look forward to strengthening our DIO collaboration with further ISO 44001- certified enterprises in 2019 as we work to become an industry leader in collaborative working.”
Mark Duddy, ABP programme director said: “I am thrilled that WYG have achieved the collaborative working standard while working on one of the ABP’s flagship projects the Salisbury Plain Training Area Service Families Accommodation project. This certification formally recognises our joint intention to work in a more collaborative manner to the benefit of the army and the wider customer base of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation.”
WYG’s collaborative working methodology on the ABP Salisbury Plain Housing Programme includes a joint relationship management plan and a joint partnering board, this enables the project partners to understand each other’s vision, values, and objectives. The certification recognises WYG’s success in delivering key benefits from effective collaboration, including enhanced performance and innovation, reduction in costs, and risk mitigation.
