Rider Levett Bucknall UK (RLB UK) has been appointed to deliver professional safety, health and environment services for Translink, the Northern Ireland transport holding company.
The Translink Framework was established specifically for rail onsite safety advisory services which require PTS competency and compliance with NIR Rule Book.
It covers all maintenance and capital works for property, infrastructure and assets for Northern Ireland Railways Company, Ulsterbus, Metro and NITHC.
RLB has been engaged on the framework that will last a maximum of six years, with a three-year initial term and the option to extend by a further 36 months.
It will be part of a team that will be primarily based on construction sites across the client’s infrastructure, working alongside Advance Safety Management Limited, Arcal Limited and PH&S Limited.
Sam Mepham, partner and national head of health and safety services at RLB UK, said: “This framework will cover rail and bus stations including any storage facilities, retail, warehouse space, hard standings, workshops, garages, car parks and other associated infrastructure for Translink, so is significant for both RLB and the works that will be undertaken.”
Andrew Johnston, health and safety consultant in RLB Belfast, added: “This appointment is a new relationship between RLB and Translink and extends the work that RLB undertakes for other transportation networks across the UK when it comes to health and safety.”
The RLB infrastructure team works across key infrastructure projects in the UK including HS2, the East West Railway and First Group.
