IN THE MEDIA: SCRAPPING THE LEVY

ACE analysis into Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) spending covered by sector media

Launch of ACE analysis, which explored take-up and use of Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) by local councils, covered by sector media.

ACE's analysis, created thanks to individual freedom of information requests to 348 councils in England and Wales, revealed that despite raising £1.1 billion between 2014 and July 2018, £443 million remains unspent and is currently sitting in council bank accounts.

ACE chief executive Hannah Vickers wrote an in-depth comment piece for Local Gov, the website for those working in local government, exploring the issues that the research revealed.

In addition to this, it was covered as a news item in Local Gov, PBC Today, The Planner, Planning Resource (£), Partnerships Bulletin (£), 24 Housing, Local Government LawyerConstruction Index and Infrastructure Intelligence.

It was also covered by regional news outlets, Plymouth Herald and Reading Chronicle.
