IN THE MEDIA: CARILLION

ACE responds to collapse of construction giant

Following the collapse of Carillion, the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) made calls in the media for reform of the industry, focusing on a better understanding of value for money and the emergence of more informed clients.

Chief executive of ACE, Dr Nelson Ogunshakin OBE, was interviewed for BBC Radio 4’s prestigious The World Tonight. He spoke on the implications for the wider construction industry and calls for reform of the sector. Listen again from 7m30s in.

The Editor of Infrastructure Intelligence, Andy Walker, was interviewed on BBC Radio Five Live (12 mins in) and on Petrie Hosken’s show on BBC London on Carillion’s collapse.

As well as providing immediate commentary around the liquidation of the construction and services group, ACE has championed reform wherever possible in the media.  These thoughts have been encapsulated a comment piece by current ACE chair, Mathew Riley.
