With the 31 December 2020 deadline fast approaching, and continuing uncertainty around our long-term relationship with the European Union, two new Brexit Briefings will help ACE members navigate the unpredictable times ahead.

Originally developed by the Construction Leadership Council’s Brexit working group, the first briefing note explores data protection and GDPR, and the second movement of people. Both briefings have been created to be working reference documents, with clear links to additional online guidance and tangible action points to help your company prepare as best as possible for next year. Where there are different options depending on the type of future relationship, this has been clearly outlined.

A third briefing in the series, which is only likely to be of interest to a small number of ACE members, explores the movement of goods and materials.

Commenting on their release, ACE’s Director of Policy Matthew Farrow said: “Given the deadlines the UK and EU are now working to, and the current fluidity of the situation, all businesses should have a plan for the immediate term, as well as a longer-term strategy. Both data protection and movement of people will be fundamental to businesses operations in the years ahead – no matter our future relationship with the EU.”
