NORTHERN GROUP MEETING
The Northern group’s meetings bring together members from across the region.
They also present an opportunity to hear from industry peers and share best-practice. Attendance is a great way to keep abreast of technical changes, the local policy environment and the consulting and engineering landscape.
Usually taking place at members' offices in the region, the meetings provide a platform for local engagement and discussion. They ensure that the specific needs, requirements and interests of firms in the Northern region are represented to ACE and provide a platform for meaningful engagement with local stakeholders.
Our next breakfast seminar is conducted by Beale & Co who will give a legal update in relation to the property & construction industry.
This will be held at Curtins, Rose Wharf, East Street, Leeds, LS9 8EE
Friday 6th September 8.30am – 10.30am
Beale & Co will cover the following topics:
Duty of care - New suites of standard form agreements are adopting an “elevated” duty of care and bespoke agreements are increasingly introducing fitness for purpose obligations with the obvious consequences for professional indemnity cover. This raises the question: Consultants – Is your duty of care under attack?
Duty to warn - A summary of a consultant’s duty to warn during performance of its obligations
Claims trends – A brief update on trends and themes in claims against construction professionals and recent case law
Attendance is open to any ACE member companies with an established track record of engineering and consultancy expertise in the northern region, please contact us for more details.
