Central Sussex College has opened its search for developers to build a new campus in Crawley.
Construction firms will be required to design and construct the new buildings at the new £55 million campus, in addition to demolishing some old structures on the site.
The plan for the Crawley campus includes a complete re-build of the area, in addition to other improvements to the campus and facilities over the coming years.
The higher education institution has confirmed that just three contractors will be invited to submit detailed bids for the project due to the scale and complexity of the scheme.
In 2006, the first phase of the building programme was completed and resulted in the construction of the Longley Building, which features extensive modern classroom accommodation, IT facilities and conferencing and hospitality spaces.
Despite the higher education institution gaining outline planning approval from the authorities, the rest of the project was put on hold in 2008 as government funding was not in place.
Interested contractors have until 20th January to submit their interest in the project.
