Scottish first minister Alex Salmond has written to the secretary of state for energy and climate change Ed Davey to express his displeasure at the government's announcement that it has delayed a decision on Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROC).
Mr Davey is currently at loggerheads with George Osborne over the amount of support that should be given to onshore wind schemes and Mr Salmond believes that this in-fighting is damaging the industry
"This uncertainty is wholly unnecessary, is placing investment at risk … and needs to be addressed as quickly as possible," he told Mr Davey.
"The continuing uncertainty … risks undermining significantly our ability to meet our shared renewable energy aims."
Mr Salmond added that Scotland is planning to resist any moves by Westminster to increase the level of the cut planned to subsidies, which is currently outlined to be ten per cent.
"The Scottish government's intention would be to amend the onshore wind ROC band to 0.9 with effect from April 2013," he said.
