Issued: 02 April 2012

Buro Happold’s Phil Anthony Moutousamy has been named the 2012 NCE/ACE Young Consultant of the Year at a gala lunch at Claridges Hotel in London.

Moutousamy, 26, has spent the last two years working on construction of a university in Saudi Arabia, managing a diverse and multi-national workforce. Prior to that he worked with Engineers Without Borders in Nigeria.

Following the announcement, Phil Anthony Moutousamy said: “I’ve been very lucky to have fantastic opportunities and the support of the professional bodies. It is great to be recognised by NCE and ACE, and I owe thanks to all my mentors and to Buro Happold who offered a great training programme and an opportunity to travel with my work.”

The winner of the Young Consultant of the Year Award receives a £1,000 prize from the Association for Consultancy and Engineering, and is invited to take a place as a shadow board member of ACE for the following twelve months.

Nelson Ogunshakin, OBE, chief executive of ACE, said: “It is always a pleasure to recognise the fantastic young talent that our industry supports, and all of the four shortlisted candidates are worthy of real praise as they make great strides in their early careers. Phil has shown a great deal of success in taking his work abroad and I look forward to having him take his place with the ACE Board this year.”
