A partnership has been formed to ensure that the Olympic Stadium in Stratford provides jobs and accommodates education and grassroots sport way after the Games finish.
The London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) and Newham Council have set up E20 Stadium LLP to manage the stadium after the Games and turn it into a major multi-use venue.
Daniel Moylan, chairman of the LLDC, said: "This stadium partnership with Newham Council will help to create a combination of local opportunities in employment, education and sport."
He went on to say that this is an example of how London is "further ahead in planning legacy than any previous host Olympic city".
