NFB Awards highlight dynamic nature of construction industry

The recent National Federation of Builders (NFB) Awards highlighted the "dynamic nature" of the construction industry, according to an executive at the body.

Held at the Grand Connaught Rooms in central London, the ceremony brought together officials from leading construction firms across the UK.

NFB's chief executive Julia Evans claimed that the high standard of entries reflected the excitement amongst members for the awards scheme.

She said: "The awards not only reflect the quality of work members carry out but also the dynamic nature of the construction industry and provide a unique opportunity for members to showcase and be recognised for their work."

Among the winners on the night included R G Carter, who won the Apprentice Scheme of the Year prize, and Bennett Homes who secured the Housebuilder of the Year 2011 award.

Baxall Construction Ltd won the Commitment to Environmental/Sustainability prize for its work at St Peter's Vicarage in Surrey.
