Graham Nicholson, managing director of Tony Gee and Partners, has been elected chairman of the Association for Consultancy and Engineering. He will take office on 1 January 2011.
Graham is the executive managing director of Tony Gee and Partners and is chairman of their Executive Board responsible for the strategic development and growth of the business. Graham has been responsible for the detailed design of a variety of bridge and other structures in the UK and South East Asia and despite his current responsibilities for the development of Tony Gee and Partners he keeps a “hands on” approach to design.
Nelson Ogunshakin OBE, ACE chief executive, said: “Graham Nicholson has been an excellent treasurer for ACE and is well known in the industry. He brings with him wide ranging experience and a strong knowledge of the challenges facing our industry.”
Graham Nicholson said: “It is a privilege to be have been elected chair of such an ambitious organisation like ACE. There is so much that our industry does so well and ACE is always there representing us at the highest level. I look forward to playing a big part in that.”
Graham Nicholson was elected chairman at ACE’s board meeting on 30 November. He succeeds Michelle McDowell MBE, who will continue to serve as ACE’s immediate past chair.
