Construction firm Galliford Try has been selected to build a new £12 million hotel and office development in Manchester.
Client Royal London Asset Management has confirmed that it has chosen the contractors to build the complex at the junction of Pollard Street and Great Ancoats Street.
The project will be completed in two phases, with the first stage seeing the construction of a seven-storey L-shaped Etap hotel and a second building featuring 20,000 sq ft of Grade A office space.
The ground floors of both buildings, which will be separated by an external plaza, will be used as retail space.
During the second phase, an additional 50,000 sq ft of Grade A office space featuring supplementary retail space will be built.
Project officials are aiming to build a sustainable complex which will achieve a BREEAM 'Very Good' rating as a minimum.
It is the latest development by Galliford Try in the region, following its construction of Manchester University's £8.9 million School of Chemical Engineering and Sciences building and a £16.7 million community and leisure centre for Warrington Council.
