The developers behind a proposed motor racing circuit in the Welsh valleys are preparing to submit their plans having secured financial backing.
Set in 830 acres of land north of Ebbw Vale close to the Rassau Industrial Estate, the £250 million Circuit of Wales is expected to host world-class events such as MotoGP, World Superbikes, World Motocross and World Touring Car.
Alongside the track, there will be a low-carbon technology park, retail space, and hotel and leisure complexes, as well as other motor sport facilities.
The company behind the project, Heads of the Valleys Development Company, believes that it will provide a huge boost to the local community.
"It will change and transform lives to the greatest degree in an area that is economically deprived," chief executive Michael Carrick told BBC Radio Wales.
Among the jobs created will be approximately 3,000 construction roles, of which 90 per cent have been earmarked for local people.
