Human Resources Taskforce
The purpose of ACE's human resources taskforce group is:
Branding
To educate school children at all levels and their advisors in what can be achieved by engineering, consultancy, environmentalist work - how these professions can make a difference to our world.
To emphasise that engineers and consultants in the built and natural environment, leave a legacy by their work, making it an interesting and fulfilling career.
To encourage undergraduates in consultancy, engineering, environmental aspects to stay in engineering.
To compete with the other professions, showcasing engineering as an exciting, and interesting profession.
Raising the flag - agencies
To identify and describe the qualities that define an effective business relationship between clients and recruitment agencies.
To raise standards in the recruitment industry by describing examples of positive business behaviours ensuring that the industry can continue to recruit the skilled people it needs.
To establish a service level agreement between agency and client; and model terms of business that could be adapted for use.
Widening the pool
To work with the ACE on engaging relevant stakeholders such as the UK Border Agency and the Migration Advisory Council to develop a better understanding of the construction industry and how it works. To work with the ACE to ensure that engineering disciplines are added to the national shortage occupation list.
General
To provide guidance on HR matters and regular HR updates to keep members up to date with HR issues and changes to legislation.
Briefing notes
Briefing notes are concise guides to specific issues. They aim to provide information about initiatives and developments that might affect member companies. In many cases they provide outline guidance of things members can do in response.
ACE member companies have access to the range of briefing notes as part of their subscriptions; non-members may be able to purchase individual briefing notes through ACE Bookshop.
