The Lee Valley White Water Centre has become the first new Olympic venue completed ahead of the London games in 2012.
Opened by the Princess Royal, the £31million project near Waltham Cross was completed on time and on budget. It will open to the public in April 2011.
The £31m project, which incorporates the 2012 Olympic slalom canoe course, was finished on schedule and will be open to the public from April 2011.
Before opening to the public, the British team will use the facility exclusively for training ahead of the Olympics, when temporary seats will allow 12,000 spectators to watch events unfold on the main 300m course.
