Building work on the Olympic Park at Stratford, London has officially been completed.
The 2.5 square kilometre site includes nine sporting arenas, including a swimming complex and a basketball arena.
Health and safety on the build was "outstanding", according to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents and the project was labelled as a success by the Olympic Delivery Association (ODA) as it announced that building work had been finished.
Dennis Hone, chief executive of the ODA, said: "We are in fine form ahead of the Games, having built the venues and main infrastructure on time and within budget."
The site will now be handed over to the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (known as LOCOG) who will transform the structures at the park into fully-functioning venues.
This future work includes constructing 100,000 square feet of 'Games-time' retail space, building 11 sponsor showcase structures and installing thousands of pieces of street furniture, including benches and waste bins.
