The Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) has welcomed the appointment of Mark Prisk as minister with responsibility for construction. Mark Prisk is a chartered surveyor. His background in the sector will provide the detailed knowledge required to set strategic goals for the construction industry.
Paul Morrell, the chief construction adviser, is also a chartered surveyor. ACE believes that the experience both men bring to their roles can only be beneficial for the industry and the UK as a whole.
Nelson Ogunshakin, ACE chief executive, said: “ACE is delighted that Mark has been appointed as a Minister of State and that part of his brief is construction. Mark understands the construction industry and spoke at ACE’s conference in 2008. He is well aware of the importance of construction to the UK economy and that the consultancy and engineering sector is best placed to deliver the Government’s low carbon agenda.”
The Minister has already met with the Steering Group of the Low Carbon Construction Review and Innovation Growth Team.
Nelson Ogunshakin added: “I, and all of ACE, look forward to working with the Minister to achieve his goals and the objectives of the Conservative-led coalition Government.”
