ACE welcomes move on engineering advice in government

Issued: 01 July 2010

The Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) welcomes news from the Chief Scientific Advisor that engineering expertise will be given greater prominence in government decision making.

Professor Sir John Beddington has updated guidance on scientific advice to government and has put engineering advice at the heart of the guidance.

Nelson Ogunshakin, ACE chief executive, said: “Sir John recognises the vital role engineers play in achieving so many of the nation’s key aims. Our sector will be crucial to supporting many policy priorities of the new Government, particularly in terms of job creation, infrastructure and low carbon development.  We look forward to seeing this guidance implemented in the coming years.”
