ACE supports government moves to open up export markets to UK Plc

Issued: 29 November 2011

ACE is pleased to support the government’s proposals to help more small businesses to trade overseas as part of a plan to strengthen the economy through export growth.

The Chancellor of the Exchequer announced new measures in his autumn statement that will see 50,000 small companies benefit from extra government support to help them to access new foreign markets. The move will see British innovation and expertise better able to win work in fast growing countries like China, Brazil and India, and to drive trade into new emerging markets such as the CIVETS nations.

ACE chief executive, Nelson Ogunshakin OBE, said: “The engineering industry is one of several in which the UK lead the world for innovation and talent. These new measures, including the development of support service through the Export Credit Guarantee Department, will help the many small companies that are such a big part of the economy, to take that strength abroad and grow their businesses. ”
