  ACE’s position on Japanese disaster

Issued: 17 March 2011

ACE, the UK based Consultancy and Engineering sector has expressed its sorrow for the people of Japan in the wake of the recent earthquake and tsunami.

Nelson Ogunshakin OBE said: “The massive damage to the fabric of towns in the region, the terrible loss of life and the uncertainty facing survivors is almost impossible to grasp.”

With emergency workers still saving and supporting survivors and surveying the damage done, we particularly wish every success to the engineers risking their lives to prevent further disasters at Japan’s nuclear power plants.

Gavin English, chairman of ACE’s International Business Group, said: “Our hearts go out to the people of Japan, the loss of life and destruction of the Tsunami will take the country years to come to terms with and recover from.”
