The inaugural European CEO Conference took place in London on 3 and 4 November. The invitation-only conference, hosted by ACE and New York-based EFCG, brought together 65 chief executives and senior business leaders from eleven countries.
The conference provided a platform to address the key issues affecting the consultancy and engineering sector across Europe. Among the topics of debate were the legacy of the credit crunch, the future of mega-consultancies in Europe, and the management of SME businesses in difficult times.
Nelson Ogunshakin OBE, ACE chief executive, said: “Engineers have the answers to many of the world’s biggest challenges. If we are to be part of the solution, we must be part of the debate. I am delighted that so many business leaders in our sector are ready and willing to engage with the global agenda.”
The outcomes of the debate will be used to shape ACE’s strategy and inform the development of the industry.
ACE used the conference to launch the findings of its annual Benchmarking initiative. For the first time, data from consultancies across Europe was included, allowing for trans-national comparison of business performance.
Nelson Ogunshakin said: “Our vision is that the European CEO Conference becomes the premier venue for Europe’s business leaders to compare performance and define the future of our sector.
