ACE Energy SIG visits the West Country

ACE’s Energy Sector Interest Group visited the offices of Buro Happold in Bath for its quarterly meeting on 26 October.  The meeting explored the forthcoming opportunities for SME consultants in south west England and south Wales, including the range of nuclear, renewable and energy-from-waste developments.

There was also a presentation from Parsons Brinckerhoff on the Severn Barrage project, and a discussion of the forthcoming changes to the planning consents system for major energy developments led by John Qualtrough, partner at Bircham Dyson Bell LLP.

The meeting was also used to launch ACE’s new South West Group.  Ian Parker, ACE’s membership and regions director, outlined the purpose and objectives of the new group, which will bring together ACE member companies in the south west region.
