Salary: £26,000 - £28,500
Summary of role
- To provide assistance to the legal and compliance director in order to support the strategic goals, priorities and project plans of ACE
- To support the chief executive in the administration and implementation of ACE Board related activities
- To identify, champion and support initiatives within the remit and responsibility of the Legal and Compliance Group
- To provide administrative support and to co-ordinate the activities of all groups under the remit of the Legal and Compliance Group
- To work with ACE senior management staff and key industry stakeholders in developing and delivering business enhancement services to ACE members
Responsibilities
- Report to the legal and compliance director
- Provide general and administrative support to the Legal and Compliance Group and to co-ordinate the activities and actions arising from the Group
- Assist with the planning and coordination of ACE’s various Groups and Task Force activities
- Provide administrative support to the chief executive for all corporate and board related matters to include producing and delivery of board minutes, reports and all associated documentation
- To act as the key point of contact with regards to ACE Agreements and their development both in hardcopy and digitally
- To act as first point of contact for members enquiries via ACE Business Helpline
- Research and report preparation
- To work with and support the Policy Team with regard to consultation and lobbying activities
- Providing support to the Operational Management Group to assist in the development of ACE’s business plan
- Provide consultancy support to member firms or third party stakeholders as necessary
- To project manage activities identified within the overall ACE Corporate Programme as appropriate
- To work with the Regional Manager in supporting regional activities
- To represent ACE at international conferences, seminars, exhibition and other activities as appropriate
- To provide legal and commercial assistance to the ACE International Business Group programme.

Personal Specification
- Legal executive or equivalent qualification
- A motivated starter/finisher with an eye for attention to detail
- Demonstrable excellent administrative and organisational skills
- Team player with good interpersonal skills, with ability to command respect and trust at all levels
- Previous experience within the construction/engineering sector is desirable
- Excellent oral, written communication and presentational skills
- Ability to write and implement reports and plans
- Commercial awareness
- Good sense of initiative

Reporting to ACE’s Head of Policy & External Affairs, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for ACE regional groups. Coordinating ACE’s regional committees and their sub-groups and acting on outputs from these forums, helping ACE to keep abreast of regional changes and to identify the key priorities facing ACE members' businesses in the devolved nations and English regions.

Summary of role
- To provide leadership and strategic direction for the ACE Regional Groups and Coordinators (20%).
- To provide coordination and the secretariat function for the ACE London & South East Regional Groups (10%)
- To develop and roll-out the KAM strategy to retain and grow market share across all Regions (40%)
- To keep abreast of the key regional issues impacting on members’ businesses and maintain relationship with key regional stakeholders (10%)
- To provide support to the Head of Policy and External Affairs (10%)
- To be a point of liaison for the Regional Coordinators (10%)
- To work with ACE senior management staff and key industry stakeholders in developing and delivering business enhancement services to ACE members
Responsibilities
- Ensure that ACE keeps abreast of and ahead of regional changes and to identify the key priorities facing ACE members' businesses in the devolved nations and English regions
- Assess the impact of regional developments on ACE members and to work with the Policy and External Affairs team to develop strategies to address these impacts
- Represent ACE on key regional industry and business bodies as appropriate
- Coordinate ACE’s Regional Committees and their sub-groups and to act on outputs from these forums
- Provide support to national and regional members across the sector interest groups
- Develop effective relationships with other key professional and industry bodies
- Identify and develop relationships with key regional stakeholders
- Support the delivery of ACE’s public affairs agenda
- Provide proactive support to the OMG in the successful delivery of the ACE corporate plans.
Person specification
- A degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
- A willingness to travel across the UK regions
- Strong understanding of, and interest in, devolved and local government
- An understanding of the construction industry
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication (including strong written English) and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations
- Ability to organise, prioritise and schedule work assignments
- Ability to work in a team and to manage own workload
- Self-starter with a can-do attitude
