Public affairs
Representing over 800 member firms, from sole traders up to large multinationals, it is essential that ACE works to ensure the most favourable business conditions for its members to work in.
Representing an industry that derives a large proportion of its income from government work, it is important for ACE to maintain good relationships with those who make the political decisions that affect its members. ACE works to develop dialogue with the right people who can influence those political decisions in order to help shape lasting policy solutions.
ACE provides a strong, cohesive voice for the consultancy and engineering sector through its public affairs team, connecting the issues raised by members to political stakeholders in the UK Parliament, Northern Ireland Assembly, Scottish Parliament and Welsh Assembly.
Invite an MP to visit your project
As part of ACE’s ongoing drive to promote the critical contribution that consultants and engineers make to the UK’s developing infrastructure and economy, ACE is seeking to engage with members of parliament to encourage them to see this work first hand.
To do this, ACE is asking for information on any ongoing or upcoming projects that your firm is undertaking, which we can encourage MPs to visit. The aim is to achieve as many visits as possible so if your firm is involved in a number of projects on a national level, please be sure to let us know.
All we require from ACE member firms is some basic information:
- The name and address of your firm’s project
- The approximate number of people working on the project
- A rough description on the nature of the project, (e.g. whether it is a school building or other development)
The scheme will be launched in tandem with ACE’s parliamentary reception in October and aims to help keep the issues of consultants and engineers high on the political agenda ahead of the next general election.
